GER240 and GER241 are two linked modules (Sem 1/2) These two linked modules (Sem 1/2) are continuation of the recently introduced beginners' pathway to the Germanic Studies Department's Honours German course, which previously had had A-level or equivalent in German as a prerequisite. Since the latter course's introduction, students with no German but A-level or equivalent knowledge of another modern foreign language have been able to study German through to B.A. Hons level on our programmes. The modules applied for will complement this by allowing to pursue their study into Level Two and up to the Year Abroad. The new L2 linked modules will teach intensive intermediate German Language with 3 class teaching hrs p.w., native speaker taught, using the second part of the following proprietory coursebook: DaF Kompakt (Klett), plus 1 hr p.w. of an oral/conversation class.
